(Sept 23, 2017) Outdoor Adventure Day at Hidden Falls Regional Park

A fun day for everyone outside with outdoor fires and cooking, map and compass reading for everyone! 

Check In

The event is at Hidden Falls Regional Park (1313 Hidden Falls Dr,  St. Paul, 55116)  Please go to the North Gate (across from Magoffin Ave). Check In for the event begins at 8:45 am at the only picnic pavilion.  The event provides activities & supplies.  Troops supply their badges.

Girls and adults should bring/wear:

  • Water bottle
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Small day pack/backpack to wear while hiking
  • Rain Gear (just in case)
  • Sweatshirt/Jacket (just in case)
  • Health History form (keep with the troop leader)
  • Permission slip (keep with the troop leader)
  • Bug Spray
  • Allergy safe snacks/lunch if you have severe food sensitivities in your group 

Food Provided for Attendees at the Event

  • Make your own nut-free GORP snack
  • Beef hot dogs/smores .  Gluten free hot dogs, hot dog buns and graham crackers will be available.
  • Water (bring your water bottle) and Coffee (bring your mug)

Brownies

The Brownie event runs from 9 am to 3 pm and Brownies have the opportunity to earn one or more of these  4 badges:

  • Bugs
  • Hiker
  • Outdoor Adventurer
  • Letterboxer

Each of the 4 badges has its own station with all activities & materials to complete the badge.   Troop adults are expected to chaperone the girls at each station.  Each badge can take 45 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the group and their maturity.  There will be Caddies (Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors who have taken Program Aide training and Caddie training) on hand to help the girls at the stations.

Juniors

The Junior event runs from 2 – 7 pm and the Juniors have the opportunity to earn their Camper and Eco Camper badges.

The badges are combined and completed through 5 stations with all activities & materials to complete the station.   Troop adults are expected to chaperone the girls at each station.  Each station will take 45 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the group and their maturity.  There will be Caddies (Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors who have taken Program Aide training and Caddie training) on hand to help the girls at the stations
